A Rail Simulator playable demo is now available for download, giving you the chance to try out the game developed by Kuju Entertainment which Rail Simulator allows you to take the controls of historic and contemporary trains on more than 1,000 miles of real-life routes from around the world. Available in Europe since this October, Rail Simulator will hit the store shelves across North America, with a wealth of new content, on January 16, 2008. New to the North American release is the highly popular Barstow to San Bernardino route alongside all-new Union Pacific locomotives and rolling stock.

Midway Games has issued a patch for BlackSite: Area 51, bringing to v1.1 this first person shooter developed by Midway Studios - Austin. This patch provides updates for multi-language support, as well as minor bug fixes and improvements.

Sierra Entertainment has issued the third patch for World in Conflict, bringing to v1.003 this strategy game developed by Massive Entertainment. This is the third update for World in Conflict containing several new features, balance changes and bug fixes. Update #3 adds enhancements to replays, the ability to re-join a clan match if the connection drops, many tweaks and balance changes to things like Napalm, the Daisy Cutter and much more. It also addresses several bugs and stability issues and adds additional features to Massgate, like the option to ignore messages from disruptive players. A playable PC demo can be found here.
Update: Massive Entertainment informed us that the patch was released earlier and will be re-released Monday. If you have downloaded this patch and wish to play online during the weekend, then you need to uninstall and reinstall the game.

A patch for Soldier of Fortune: Payback has been releasing, updating to v1.1 this first person shooter sequel published by Activision Value. The patch fixes the Windows Vista issues and display problems. Thanks: Blues.

     3. Crytek sent over a press release announcing that their collaboration with Hochschule Darmstadt will begin this winter semester. The game studio, located in Frankfurt, Germany, is not only licensing the CryENGINE 2 to the school, but will also support the students by providing them with lectures on the topics of game concepts and game design, computer animation, and engine technology.

Ntreev USA Inc. sent over a press release announcing that it has released new content for their popular 2D fantasy MMORPG, Trickster Online Revolution, launched officially to the online playing public in November of 2006. To celebrate the one year anniversary of this title, Trickster Online Revolution will launch brand new "1st Anniversary" content. This new content, which will only be available for a very limited time, includes "Fake Boss Monster Hunting", exclusive commemorative equipment sets, available through special quests given by Don Giuvanni and Hunter Girl Yuri. In addition, the celebration will also include the release of the one-week only "World Boxes" in My Shop, featuring brand new pets never before seen in Trickster Online Revolution. Each of the two possible World Boxes will feature one of eight super rare and highly limited pets for players to collect. These World Boxes will be available in My Shop for one week only.

Activision and Infinity Ward have issued a patch (now with installer) for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, updating to v1.1 this first person sequel. This patch addresses the issue of Rank / Stat resets reported by users moving from a Modded / Un-ranked server to a non Modded / Ranked Server. This update is not intended to revert back to any previously lost rank, but to prevent the issue from happening in the future. The PC demo can be found here.

Sierra Entertainment has issued a new patch for Empire Earth III, this time updating to v1.1 the EU versions of the third iteration of the multi-million unit selling real-time strategy (RTS) series developed by Mad Doc Software (press 'read more' for changelog). A playable demo can be found here.

SEGA of America has released a new trailer and a batch of concept art from NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, showcasing this game developed for the Nintendo Wii where you will have the freedom to fly in a world of dreams and imagination, a world where dreams come to life. Using the Wii Remote you will fly through the world, while protecting it from Nightmarens, creatures from the dark world of Nightmare. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will hit the store shelves on December 18th, 2007.

Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today announced a partnership to become an officially licensed 3rd party publisher for the Xbox 360. As part of this announcement, two games have been revealed: Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3. Operation Darkness is an epic fantasy WWII turn-based strategy game currently scheduled for release in 2008. Due to ship in 2008, Spectral Force 3 promises to deliver challenging strategy RPG gameplay, a classic fantasy story, and tons of character and item customization options. Wondering who will win the Championship Game of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer tonight? 2K Sports has predicted that Connecticut will defeat Memphis. The team has simulated tonight's game using College Hoops 2K8, the latest installment in the series now developed for the Xbox 360, PS2 and PS3. The final score will be Connecticut - 86, Memphis - 79. Key Player: SG #11 will pace UConn with 21 points to lead the Huskies to victory. cdv Software Entertainment USA have released part one of a four part guide to Escape from Paradise City, the strategy/RPG title developed by Sirius Games. In part one of the guide, readers will learn more about the general traits and skills available to players throughout the game. In Escape from Paradise City, gamers play as three unique characters: an ex-con, a streetwise hand-to-hand expert and a corrupt FBI agent – who find themselves forced to help the government infiltrate the criminal underworld of the most corrupt city in America. Players must use each character's unique skills and traits in their quest to defeat local gang leaders and make their way to the final showdown with the city's mysterious crime bosses to get to the root of their stranglehold on power.
