Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) today announced MLB 08 The Show, a new baseball game in development for PS3, PS2 and PSP, and due to ship in Spring 2008. To deliver the closest experience possible, next to actually trying to make it in the Majors, MLB 08 The Show introduces a more immersive Road to The Show mode. As gamers attempt to make a starting line-up in the Big Leagues, playing on both offense and defense from a custom-created player's perspective, a more robust dynamic goal system and a new career advancement system will determine when a player is eligible for a promotion. Codemasters has released a new trailer from Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, showcasing this first-person shooter set in a World War II alternate reality where the Nazis where not defeated and by 1950 they invade North America. Epic Games has issued the final version of the first patch for Unreal Tournament 3, updating to v1.1 the latest entry into the Unreal franchise. This patch contains several gameplay tweaks, AI improvements and bugfixes, and adds several changes to user interface, HUD, networking, server administration and more. The Games Company (TGC) sent over a press release announcing it has acquired the license of an entire game series for Nintendo's Wii console. From 20th December TGC will publish the Popcorn Arcade series, which is very popular in Britain, under its label Green Kangaroo in German speaking territories. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the popular first person sequel game developed by Infinity Ward, earned top honors as Best Shooter and Best Military Game at Spike TV's 5th Annual Video Game Awards (VGA) show, Activision announced. Blizzard Entertainment today announced that World of Warcraft will be fully localised in Russian and it is scheduled to be released in 2008. The Russian version will be the fifth officially supported European language, complementing the existing English, French, German and Spanish versions. Activision today announced the release of Winter Sports 2008 for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii and PC, the sequel to last year’s RTL Winter Games 2007. The game features 15 playable disciplines including the 9 most popular winter sports, a new campaign mode with 42 missions, hot seat (4 players) and split screen (2 players) multiplayer modesm as well as no less than 21 locations.

2K Sports today announced Don King Presents: Prizefighter, a realistic boxing video game simulation developed for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. The game is currently under development at Venom Games and combines the realism of live action match-ups with the responsibility needed to build a career. The story will be told by a revolutionary sports documentary-style narrative never before seen in a video game. Don King Presents: Prizefighter will be released during Spring 2008.
