Electronic Arts today announced the development of Tiberium, a tactical first-person shooter that takes players on an adventure through a devastated Earth and places them in the heart of an epic battle for control of a powerful energy source. Players step into the shoes of Forward Battle Commander Ricardo Vega and will assemble an assortment of elite squads to combat the global crisis. Armed with an arsenal of weapons including a transforming personal weapon system, multi-launch homing missiles, capital ship bombardments and tactical ion cannon strikes, Vega will lead the fight from the front lines. Players will control multiple infantry, armour, and air squads as the fight escalates. Players can take multi-squad control combat into single-player or bring the action into online multiplayer battles. Developed at EA Los Angeles, Tiberium will hit the store shelves in autumn 2008, for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 - the first screenshot found its way in our gallery.

Octopi announced today the launch of Grimlic's Descent, a new expansion to PoxNora, their online game that combines the best ideas from collectible card games and miniatures games with roleplaying aspects. PoxNora: Grimlic's Descent adds 60 new runes across all factions, including the highly anticipated Grimlic, Hero of the Underdepths and a master of deception. Other features of the expansion include more than 40 new abilities, a new map and a downloadable game client, which allows players to run PoxNora directly from their desktops instead of navigating to the PoxNora website to initiate a game. Harmonix, MTV Games and Electronic Arts today announced that Rock Band, already available for Xbox 360 and PS3, has shipped to retail for PS2. Rock Band is a game where you and your friends will be able to play famous songs as a band, using drum, bass/lead guitar and microphone peripherals. Microsoft today announced that Sensible World of Soccer and Tempest will be available this week on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360. Both games will launch this Wednesday, December 19th at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PST). Sensible World of Soccer allows you to challenge friends over Xbox LIVE, kick it solo in Career mode or flex your managerial muscles by leading a team to the Champions league. The game also features a helpful tutorial mode to bring players up to speed on the most popular sport in the world. Tempest is an intense shooter game requiring skill and lightning quick reflexes. Players must harness their firepower to shoot and destroy enemy hordes in a desperate fight for survival across fluorescent geometric battlefields. Tempest contains both the original and enhanced gameplay modes.

Eidos Interactive sent over a press release announcing that Kane and Lynch: Dead Men has been released on mobile devices. This version was developd by Danish developer Kiloo with input from Io Interactive, the original development studio for the game.
