While the stage demo of The Agency at CES may have been slightly underwhelming, a three part developer walkthrough is now available at GameTrailers, and it's looking pretty good. Hal Milton, Lead Designer on The Agency claims the footage shown is pre-alpha, but the game is looking quite polished for such an early stage of development!

Continuing the trend of player submitted screenshots the latest entry to the Screenshot of the Week gallery is submitted by player Keiko Owens. The screenshot is scenic and fairly somber in tone, in remembrance of those fallen during the Bane invasion.

Interviews

Recently, WarCry took the chance to interview the people behind the Dragonlance animated movie, which comes to DVD on January 15th. The interview gave us the chance to hear from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, the famed authors and creators of the Dragonlance series. We also heard from the film's Co-Executive Producer John Frank Rosenblum and Paramount Pictures Product Manager Chris Dreyer.

In addition, we also have an exclusive clip from the film that features Sturm Brightblade.

WarCry: You two did not directly write the script, but as the authors of the original works can you talk a bit about how it turned out and why you believe it is a good representation of your work?

Tracy Hickman: Adaptation of a novel into a screenplay is a tough act especially when you're dealing with fans of a well-know work. It isn't a question of simply portraying scenes from the novel - as I think most people assume - but rather of capturing the emotional core of the original work and being able to portray that in a new medium. Both Margaret and I were granted an unprecedented level of input on the script but in the end it was hardly needed: George Strayton's magnificent screenplay captured the essence of our vision beautifully realized in a new medium.

We then hopped in our ships and headed out on the open seas for what is at the heart of this game. Ship combat! We had level 15 ships as we headed out on the open seas, where we quickly came across a ship well over level 40. What was cool about ship combat in the game is that level does not equal victory. In PotBS, a cannon ball does X amount of damage, it doesn't matter if you are level 5 or 50. The same damage is done from a cannon. Sure there are plenty advantages to being higher level, skills that allow you to fire faster, or turn quicker, but a player that really knows what he is doing, has a real chance of beating a ship far above his level. This was refreshing to see, especially in a game where PvP areas can open up around you, it is nice knowing that when that high level player starts chasing you, it doesn't mean you are dead.

This week's images show off a very important sword fight and an image that clearly is part of one of those interactive world elements they've discussed. At AGDC, the FLS team told a story about a monkey who could be convinced to throw a tomato at a guy in the stocks. Man in stocks? Check. Monkey? Check. Tomatoes? Check.
