Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 10th as that is the date of the next Camelot Road Trip! We will be in Bethesda, Maryland giving away prizes, answering your questions and snacking on some great food. If you think you might be able to attend, please RSVP so we can make sure to order enough snacks. The fun starts at 7:00pm EST and we look forward to seeing you there.

Do you have a friend who deserves to shine in the spotlight? Does your guild or alliance have something interesting to say? Don't forget about the Scroll of Valor and Guild News. The Scroll honors your friends and guildies for their accomplishments in game, and Guild News is great for getting the word out about recruiting and guild events and accomplishments. Send in your submissions today!

The St. Patrick's Day quests have begun today and are in full swing! The leprechauns have told me that the quests will only be available until March 28th so there is no time like the present to get out there and start them.

Have a great weekend everyone. If you plan on drinking, please stay safe and don't drive.

Enjoy!

EA Mythic is performing an analysis of the Realm vs Realm conflict that fuels the gameplay of Dark Age of Camelot. Players will have a chance to participate in this analysis by answering a new poll that may well have an impact on the future of the game's central conflict. The poll is as follows:

The Dark Age of Camelot team is currently going through a detailed analysis of New Frontiers. Please select the option that best describes your feeling about the New Frontiers territory:

  • I do not wish to answer this poll.
  • New Frontiers is just fine.
  • Keep New Frontiers, but reduce the size of the region.
  • Keep New Frontiers, but cluster it across all servers.
  • Get rid of New Frontiers. I want a new area, smaller than New Frontiers but larger than a battleground.
  • I don't care what the territory is; just give me more things to do while I'm there.
  • I have no preferences with regard to the RvR territory.
  • I do not see my option on this list.

All current Dark Age players can hop in-game to answer this poll.

Chris Rabideau, a producer over at EA Mythic, has released a statement to the Dark Age of Camelot community regarding the recent 6th anniversary milestone for the game. It does quite a bit to sum up a lot of the games history and really let you see how it has developed and what is in store for the future.

It's been six truly wonderful years since Dark Age of Camelot first opened its servers to the hungry Realm versus Realm masses; six years of high intensity melee combat and countless magical explosions on the battlefields of the Frontiers; six years of the deadliest and most compelling siege warfare ever seen in any live MMO to date.

Six years and still counting.

In other news concerning Turbine, we have found out that Walt Yarbrough has been hired by Turbine to produce a still unnamed title for the company. Walt was the Producer for EA Mythic's Dark Age of Camelot, and later Ultima Online. This was quite a move for Walt who had been with Mythic since 2000, and the launch of DAOC. According to his Linkedin profile, he is now the Executive Producer of an unannounced title, and the Acting Senior Producer for Lord of The Rings Online.

We still don't know anything about the upcoming title, however it has been hinted at before. In our interview with Jeff Anderson (now ex CEO of Turbine) at AGDC, Jeff hinted at new projects. It would seem that they are looking at new titles sooner rather than later.

Lots of changes over at Turbine today! What are your thoughts on the happenings?

For Dark Age players who are still running the four year-old Trials of Atlantis client, you may want to plan for an upgrade in the near future. EA Mythic will be phasing the ToA client out with the launch of version 1.91.

The Trials of Atlantis client is now four years old. After careful evaluation, we have determined that it is time to phase out this older engine. The "phase out" will occur with the launch of version 1.91.
