Once again the Camelot Herald has been updated with questions taken from the official forums as well as several announcements of interest to DAoC players:

Q. I'm playing a Heretic and I'm in a duo with a Friar who has Bodyguard on me. The Heretic Level 48 spell Torrential Blaze is uninterruptable by magic damage, but when other players are nearby and start to melee me, I get interrupted. If I am bodyguarded, then how is it I am getting interrupted?

A. The Balancinator smiled and jumped right on in to explain: I appreciate your feedback. I think a common misconception about the "uninterruptible"(I dare you to find that word in a dictionary.) or "UI" spells is the definition of the word "ranged". The word "Ranged" represents your geographical location in comparison to the position of your opponent and not the type of attack. It is possible to have a spell interrupt your cast if they are within 100 units of you.

Today we will also have his preview of high level RvR, two exclusive screenshots (and a pile more) and an interview with Mark Jacobs on the company's decision to delay Warhammer Online until fall. Stay tuned!

In our demo, a ballista was built and when the character took control of the weapon the view changed into a first-person mode with large arrows representing a targeting reticule bordering the edges of the screen. Once a target was selected, the arrows began to slowly move towards the center with the intent that the closer the arrows got to each other, the more accurate the shot would be. Individuals can be targeted by a ballista but whenever you move your aim, the arrows reset to the outer edge and you will have a hard time hitting your target. Still, for the NPC that stood still long enough the ballista did a great deal of damage.

Screenshots

We have added 11 new screenshots to our Warhammer Online gallery from the recent event at EA Mythic HQ. These images largely show off RvR incidents, as well as a couple glimpses at the various high-end cities. They are in addition to the two exclusives we just released.

Gamespy has an interview with Mark Jacobs about the announcement that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has been pushed back to a fall release. It begins with the most obvious question:

GameSpy: Warhammer Online has been delayed again -- until when, and why?

Mark Jacobs: The when is fall '08. As to why -- pretty much the same reason as before. When we go into development and go through the various phases of beta, we gather a lot of information, feedback, suggestions. We also see how much of that phase was implemented by the team. What has been happening, and this happened the last time, is that the team is getting everything done, but they're cutting into our polish time. So we had a choice. We could be feature-complete by the end of the second quarter, which was our last release date, and release the game unpolished, or we could extend it and do a lot of polishing.

And so begins another of the age old discussions amongst gamers: "Should the game be pushed or polished?" What do you think? Let us know on our forums.

Eurgamer editors attended a press conference in which EA's Mark Jacobs announced a delay in the release of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Already delayed from Q1 to Q2 2008, the ambiguous date is now sometime in the "fall". Jacobs indicated that the delay would allow developers to "invest additional time and effort in implementation and polish to make WAR great".

Play.tm has a two page preview of Warhammer Online: The Age of Reckoning. Sprinkled with some screenshots, here is some of what they have to say:

Warhammer : The Age of Reckoning has been in development for what seems like forever now, but we are promised a serious look at an all but finished product soon. EA Mythic are certainly not short of guinea pigs volunteering to test out even the most cut down version of their product. The level of investment in this title is unprecedented in an MMO - whilst the current King of the Hill has indeed continued to invest in its product and provide expansion, it did not hit the ground running at quite the pace Warhammer promises to do.

Head over to Play.tm for a look at the rest.
