(Last update: September 2006) Since we first looked at chess clocks (see our related Before You Buy articles for more info), the biggest evolution has been the number of models manufactured in China. These clocks pose a special challenge because they are not branded and marketed the way most Western models are. If you want to comparison shop, we recommend comparing pictures on the sites of the online retailers.

Dooer Industrial (Cixi)

Manufacturer of quartz and digital clocks. The quartz clocks are sold under various names, but we were unable to locate any sellers of the digital clock.

"Chess Clock"

This model is a digital clock for chess, Chinese chess, and go. It has a blue body with five round front buttons and two switches.

"Chess Timer"

This model is a digital clock with black body and six rectangular buttons.

CGL/GGL

This model is an analog clock similar to the BHB style. It comes in various colors, with several clock faces and button styles. The clock ticker is positioned at one o'clock on both clock faces. It's not clear if CGL and GGL are different brands. They appear to be related.
