Queens move on straight lines

The Queen can move any number of squares along its row, its column, or its diagonals. The diagram shows that a Queen in the center of an empty chess board can move to 27 different squares.

The Queen combines the chess moves of the Rook and the Bishop. This makes it the most powerful piece on the board.
