(IDG) -- Every Fall, Hollywood studios take their best shot at the Oscars, releasing the serious films they think have the best chance of winning Academy Awards. This year's contestants include American Beauty and Angela's Ashes. In honor of the fall movie bonanza, we offer downloads that recall fun-filled summer blockbusters of the past. The screen savers and desktop themes in the list below feature characters and movies you've no doubt enjoyed: James Bond, Austin Powers, Alien and Star Trek. What's more, most of them are free, so give them a try! Click "More screen savers" (link below) to see FileWorld's entire collection of screen savers.

  1. Blair Witch Project Screen Saver: This low-budget blockbuster is now a no-budget screen saver. Frivolity has never been as frightening as in this screen saver, based on the popular thriller The Blair Witch Project.

  2. James Bond Screen Saver: Display the classic James Bond "walk-on-and-fire" sequence on your screen. You'll see Agent 007 shoot bullet holes throughout your desktop to reveal images beneath, including Bond's vehicles, women, gadgets, allies, and villains.

  3. Titanic Screen Saver and Diary: Watch the Titanic in disastrous action as this screen saver protects your monitor. You can also use a copy of the free Titanic Desktop Diary for your daily note-taking tasks.

  4. A Bug's Life Screen Saver: Put some Disney family spirit into your life with this screen saver based on that wacky bug movie.

  5. Dr. Evil Screen Saver: Add some more Austin Powers accoutrements to your desktop. This bit of kitschy cybermarketing showcases the trials and tribulations of Dr. Evil and company.

  6. Star Wars Phantom Menace Theme: Dress up your desktop with hi-res color photos from George Lucas's Star Wars prequel. The file phantom2.zip is an image of the movie poster.

  7. Jurassic Park Desktop Theme: Make your desktop look like it stepped out of the movie Jurassic Park.

  8. Alien 4 Desktop Theme: Are you a fan of the movie Aliens? Then you'll like this desktop theme based on the art of H.R. Giger, who worked on the film.

  9. Star Trek VI Desktop Theme: Screen saver and desktop theme based on the movie Star Trek VI.

  10. Batman Forever Desktop Theme: Based on the movie with Nicole Kidman.
