In Podracing, many pilots trade off efficiency for brute power, and try to gain as much speed by using the biggest engines possible. Ody Mandrell believed in that philosophy, and outfitted his Podracer with gigantic turbine engines. His strategy backfired during a pitstop, however. The suction power of his engine's intakes sucked in one of his pit droids, crippling his Podracer, and effectively removing him from the race.
