Police: Mother charged in kids' deaths spoke of killing them

A Louisville woman charged in the deaths of her two children spoke of a plan to kill them the day before they were found dead in their home, a police detective testified Monday.

Gail Coontz, 37, has been charged in the murders of her 14-year-old son, Greg, and 10-year-old daughter, Nikki. Their bodies were found in their home last week.

Coontz had mentioned killing her children and herself to a friend, Louisville police Detective Keith Roberts said during a probable cause hearing in Jefferson County District Court. Read more

There has been a new force moving in Southeast Louisville. It's not a new restaurant, or a huge corporation. It's a church. A very unique church.

LifePointe Church, began a little over a year ago, and in such a short time has increased their congregation by 250%. In church terms, that's an unprecedented growth spurt. But what is it that's different about them?

They meet in a movie theater. The Stonybrook Cinema Delux movie theaters to be exact.

Every Sunday morning at 7am, volunteers gather at the theater on Hurstbourne to "build" a church. Sound and video gear, music equipment and kids areas are set up in preperation for the 10:15 am service.

The shear amount of prep work done for each service is amazing, but not as amazing as the warmth and friendliness that visitors experience when they walk throught he doors. Another team of volunteers greet, and others man info and food tables. Kids are taken to one of two seperate theaters, which are guarded by security, for their own Sunday event.

When you enter the main theater, the atmosphere bursts with anticipation of the rock worship music that is about to begin. But as cool as the music will seem, you will love the messages by Pastor Jamey that seem to have a relevance in everyone's life.

If you're a long time church-goer, or are looking for your first experience, I highly recommend a visit to this great option.
