Bed Found In Polygamist Ranch Temple
Hundreds of children who were taken from a polygamist ranch by Texas child welfare authorities will remain in state custody, a judge ruled Friday night.
Religious scholar John Walsh also addressed a particularly damning piece of evidence: At least one bed found inside a temple that was allegedly used to consummate such marriages immediately after the ceremony.

What no reception? No goodies. Cut to the quick instead of cutting the cake first. Really, what does that "bed" in the temple represent? The couple are married, right? Cult is part of culture. Under the mask of "Religion", the dirty old men control the minds and bodies. It's not new. Ask the Pope. |

Sure, let's put marriage in the hands of polygamists, cults, felon evangelists, pedophile priests, and witches. |

I'm homosexual and fully support your notion of giving marriage back to the religions. It really has no buisness in government and the special rights given to married people is contrary to what the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the "Bill of Rights" and "United States Constitution." One caveat, however. I doubt very seriously "marriage" will fare any better as a strictly "religious" entity. I know a good many heteros who were married in the church of their choice in front of the g-d of their choice and really bungled it up. So.... |
Now it appears that some (albeit a few) people have decided to use religon has a crutch and an excuse to do whatever and manipulate whoever they want. Religon has become an excuse to justify anything. People have become so devoid of common sense and logic that now they can be coerced into accept anyone and anything has religon. I think the compound should be demolished and assets seized to provide for the children's welfare. |

The believers of this sect place their book before us and explain, "This is why we challenge their actions, to us it is written that they are in err." Weighing one spiritual belief against another. And at a time we send thousands of American soldiers to protect and die for a culture that commonly pairs young children into arranged marriages at pre-puberty. At some point we should begin the question and answer period, perhaps bettter sooner than later. |

Beds in churches go back hundreds of years, as they do in many institutional buildings. Without forensic testing, the use of a bed in a tabernacle is merely speculative, and some of these posts, barring any sort of evidence, one way or the other, give an accurate reflection of the mind set of the posters.... all to willing to make judgments based on a headline without regard for any actual evidence. I'm sure glad I don't have to sit on a jury with such people. |

What purpose do you suppose the bed for? Resting during services? There are beds on trains and buses and motor coaches oh my... but they arent used to screw little kids and if they are it is a disgusting sick perversion.. NO I dont have proof that they screwed little girls in that bed but who gives a damn they are screwing little kids in that damn compound. Little teen girls pregnant by 50 year old men. What a sick F***ing society we live in to hear people defend people like this and whine about their rights to a fair trail and their rights.. What about these little girls right to a decent life. I dont care if they have wacky beliefs according to some people, but I do care when kids are being harmed in this manner and shame on you for defending any "rights" these bastards have that have hurt these girls |
After seeing the guided tour by one of the mothers, I wondered just where all the sexual activity takes place. All the bedrooms she showed had several beds at least in them, like army barracks. Are there any private rooms or do they just do it anywhere with little eyes watching? |

One wife per bed, 7 beds, One husband, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc... I never understood the Mormon faith, however now I believe it to be more respectable/reputable than this "offshoot" or corruption thereof. Based on the information provided I'm slowly starting to believe that this is not a religon but more of a cult/club. A cult of sick pedophiles who couldn't hack it in normal society so they all banded together and built a compound under the guise of a church so they could get non-profit tax exemption status as well has federal grants and practice their perversion in relative security under the auspices of "sacred ground" and freedom of religon. What a crock o' crap. I wonder if that tour is posted on the web somewhere? I would be interested to see ti as well.

You could try CNN as I think it was on Larry King Live. Nancy Grace also covered this on her program. If you can't find it at these places, try Googling for video. It was very interesting. One bedroom she showed had several twin beds in each along with a set of bunkbeds. There were a couple of little kids chairs and everything looked clean and neat. She showed the dining room where they ate and a living room. She pointed out that they had a piano. |

I also watched Larry King interview the women. Maybe it's me but all the women's responses sounded, I don't know....rehearsed liked they had been coached. Anybody else think so? http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/04/16/polygamis... |
