HexDame is the hexagonal translation of 'International Draughts/Checkers', or Dame. The rules of Dame as put down in 1723 by a Polish citizen of Paris, in my opinion, cannot be improved. HexDame follows them literally. A complete illustrated description of the rules is included in the download.
HexDame is just one of the games invented by Christian Freeling; they can all be seen, and some of them played, on the internet in the MindSports ArenA.
The image below depicts a beautiful HexDame problem, White to play and win, that was composed by Leo Springer, an endgame expert in Dame. |
