Adult Psychiatry - 1 East
Monday-Friday:
11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.
Weekends and Holidays:
11:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Birthing Center - 4/5/6 North
Patients set their own visiting hours.
Children under age 14 must check in at the nursing station.
Inpatient Rehabilitation - 3 North
Monday-Saturday: 4:30-8 p.m.
Sundays and Holidays: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Family and direct caregivers may visit anytime.
Intensive Care - 7 Tower
Immediate family or close friends over 12 years of age only. Number of visitors and time allotted may be limited. |

Monday-Friday: 5-6:30 p.m.
Saturday: 12-6:30 p.m.
Sunday: 3-6:30 p.m.
Holidays: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Pediatrics - 6 Tower
Parents may visit any time.
Visitors other than family from 12-8 p.m.

Meriter Hospital Visitor Business Lounge
Next to our patients, their visitors are our most important customers. That is why we opened the Visitor Business Lounge - a quiet, comfortable place especially for them. During your patient's stay at Meriter, you are invited to use the Lounge to:
- Relax and recharge while your patient is sleeping, undergoing a procedure or spending time with other visitors
- Read daily newspapers and magazines
- Stay in touch with work through internet hookups (note that patients can also access our wireless option)
- Send e-mails to out-of-town relatives and friends
The Lounge is located at the lobby level, across the hall from Guest Services. It is open Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. and weekends/holidays, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. To maintain a quiet and business-like atmosphere, the Lounge is intended for use by adults only. If you have any questions, either visit the Guest Services Department or call (608) 417-6276. |
Business-related Services
Meriter provides a variety of business-related services to make your time at Meriter a bit easier. They include:
- ATM Machine - An ATM machine is located outside of Guest Services, which is located on the second floor across from the Tower elevators.
- Check Cashing - Guest Services will cash a personal check for up to $10 without charge.
- Banking Services - The Park Bank has a branch located inside of Meriter Hospital. It is located on the second floor past the Tower elevators and Guest Services.
- Fax Machine - You can use the fax machine in Guest Services free of charge if your fax is being sent within the United States.
- Stamp Machine - A stamp machine is located in the small room across from Guest Services.
- Photocopy Machine - A photocopier is located in the small room across from Guest Services.
- Mail Drop - A mail drop is located in the small room across from Guest Services. Mail is picked up at least once daily, Monday-Friday.

Lodging at Area Hotels
Meriter has agreements with several area hotels to provide reduced-rate lodging for patients, family members and guests. These accommodations are designed to provide comfortable, affordable and convenient lodging for family members who want to stay in the Madison area while a relative is hospitalized, or for patients scheduled for early morning procedures. Hotels vary with regard to room style, size and amenities, but all include telephone, cable TV, business center options and breakfast options. Many offer courtesy transportation to and from the hospital when requested.
The cost per night varies from hotel to hotel, but is within the low and affordable range established for Meriter. Patient and Family Services has some funds available to help defray the cost of lodging for families who need financial assistance. Smoking and Tobacco Policy
 Meriter is committed to providing a tobacco-free environment. Smoking or
tobacco use of any kind is prohibited on ALL Meriter property and grounds.
We are proud to create a healthy, healing environment for patients, visitors,
volunteers and employees.
Please note:
- Tobacco use is not permitted in the buildings, on the grounds or in the
parking ramps and lots as indicated on the map at right. A
printable map is available, if you wish.
- Please be respectful of our neighbors' property and do not leave
cigarette butts or other tobacco product waste.
- We realize that smoking or chewing tobacco is a powerful addiction. But
thousands quite every year, and you can, too! For tips on quitting, go to

Latex Policy
| Meriter strives to be a latex-safe environment, using latex free alternatives whenever possible for the safety of patients and staff. While balloon bouquets (latex) are appealing, a substitute of Mylar balloons would assist in achieving our goal. |
