"Tummy Pets"

We're calling these cute animals "Tummy Pets". The cotton outer body of the animal is filled with acrylic and rice. If you put the animal in the microwave for a very short period of time, you can use it as a cute heating pad. A responsible adult should always carefully check the temperature prior to giving it to a child.

Velcro on the bottom of the animal enables washing of the cotton body and acrylic inside. The uncooked rice is separate, in a bag. As always, a responsible adult should supervise children at all times.

The organization coordinating this work provides services to thousands of people in and near La Esperanze, including dental and medical clinics, a laboratory, pharmacy, a daycare and nutrition center, an alternative learning center. They've also just opened a school for children in grades 1 through 6.
