Took the Democratic Congress enough time. It was their campaign promise in 2006.

For those who regard Iraq/Afghanistan as another Vietnam, well it looks like they are getting their wish.
Once again, the Democrats are turning a victory into a defeat. Just like Vietnam.
This is what happens when lawyers fight wars.

this is not a war like WWII, were you have a battle line and 2 different uniforms, its insurgency, LIKE Vietnam, you don't win, because there is nothing to win, get those troops out of harms way, bring them home

Well, I kinda thought the same thing only it wasn't "backbone" that immediately came to mind.

what a bunch of fu**ing traitors , all these commies can't stand the fact that we are winning a war, hell they haven't let us win 1 since WWII: it's vietnam ,all over again, why can't people wake up and see that this is a war worth fighting, amazing at the stupidity in this country now,but i guess we will just end up fighting it here, and don't make the mistake of believing it's not coming here

I find it quite amazing how some people in this forum compare FDR’s war to bush’s war. FDR was a man who was respected and loved by everyone. He got us into a war that needed to be won. Bush a man who isn’t respected by anyone started an illegal war, killed over One million Iraqi men, women and children; and so far, sacrificed over FOUR Thousand American TROOPS merely to satisfy his EGO. bush aka caligula conquered a sovereign nation, using the justification that it participated in a heinous terrorist attack, and that it posed an immediate and serious danger to America. Well, we’ve all known for some time now that it was a total LIE...

bye..

The Iraq War was already won, remember? Why would we need funding for it? Mission Accomplished?!?

It should "dramatically" go down now that we're not filling up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

I can see a one-penny dip coming, about the same impact as the percentage of filling the SPR to domestic demand, what, a third of one percent?

THAT war can't be won. It has been going on for 4000 years, and may go on for another 4000 years. Our presence only brings a little temporary calm to the place. Just like Vietnam, most of the people there are not motivated, so as soon as the US, UK, Canada, et al leave, they will go right back to chaos. After a while you have to ask, "are we really accomplishing anything there?"
With the satellite imagery today, why aren't they stopping the shipments of explosives into the country?
I'll agree the congress is comprised of a lot of bought and sold cry babies, but I don't think we should have stayed in Iraq for an extended period of time.
