Authorities Warn Windsor Residents Of Solicitors
Residents of the most heavily damaged area of tornado-stricken Windsor are reporting scammers offering fixes to their homes at unreasonable prices, the Weld County Sheriff's office said Sunday.
Authorities also said they have responded to "30 suspicious incidents," including the arrest of a man suspected in a Fort Collins homicide, in a previously restricted area where residents were allowed to return Saturday.
Deputy Shane Scofield, a Weld County Sheriff's office spokesman, said residents should be wary of solicitors in the aftermath of the tornado that swept through Windsor Thursday, damaging at least 596 homes, including 102 that were deemed unsafe to occupy.
