Barack Obama -- increasingly under fire from John McCain as he appears poised to win the Democratic nomination -- said he is considering a trip to Iraq but dismissed as a "political stunt" an invitation by the Republican candidate to make the visit together.

Judged: 3 2 2 He would be smart to wait until he becomes president. If he loses his presidential bid, then he can go back to the senate and continue to ignore Iraq and claim that we should never have gone there in the first place. |

Judged: 7 2 1 While I disagree I must point out that intelligent comments and reasoned decision making are not qualities of our current commander in chief. |
Judged: 1 1 Then why did he refuse to go with McCain when he was ask? Think he might have been concerned he wouldn't get the crowd support bought for him in the US? |

Judged: 9 1 While I hope we all know by now that the invasion was a mistake...sorry...obama has no right to make statements about whether or not he would have or would not have vote for or against...he was not in the senate at the time, and was not under the same pressures as those that ACTUALY voted one way or another. It is too easy to arm chair quarter back 5 years later. Sorry no pass on this one for obama. |

Judged: 12 10 9 Obama is the better candidate because he has built strong ground organizations nationwide, has stayed on message, has (mostly) taken the high road, has exhibited coolness under fire, and has built a donor base unprecedented in American politics. He has passed the threshold to commander in chief. In contrast, Clinton's campaign has been in conflict 'from day 1,' has gone through several shakeups, has changed messages several times, has pandered, slung mud, lied, run out of money several times, and left a whole trail of unpaid vendors. Since their positions on issues are so similar, we must look to how well they've run their respective campaigns for insight into how effective each would be in the presidency. Given the above, who do you think is the better candidate? Your vote is YOUR responsibility, not ours, and if you vote for McCain, then that's a decision you have to justify to yourself. Personally, wars and economy and soldiers lives are not worth voting against just because I'm pissed off that "my" candidate didn't get the nomination, and even though I can't stand Hillary Clinton, for me it comes down to issues versus issues, and for me, McCain would be a disaster over either Dem. McCain can't define the difference between Sunni and Shia. This guy is trying to be President? McCain makes Bush look smart. McCain has taken both sides of any issue and changed back and forth on every issue many times. So long as he can fool people by appearing Presidential, he doesn't think he has to worry about things like the truth or the facts! He is too out of it to even seem to know what he is saying..it is the way early Alzheimer's starts to show it's unraveling of memory and personality and the human brain..and Not only him but apparently a lot of people in this thread are right there with him on this brain thing. Oh BTW, its proven by scientific research that racism makes you stupid, its a fact! |
