Vyacheslav Lepsheyev, former chief traffic inspector of Khakassia, was arrested in Saratov on April 1.
A criminal case was opened against Lepsheyev over large-scale bribe-taking in the form of money (Article 290 Part 4 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code) and abuse of official powers (Article 285 Part 1) on March 24. Khakass Directorate for the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation announced it Monday.
On March 24 Lepsheyev was to have been arrested, according to the court decision. However, his whereabouts was not known, so he was included into the international search list. Lepsheyev has been accused officially. He will be transported to the Republic of Khakassia within a few days.
