Leninsky District Prosecutor's Office of Krasnoyarsk imposed an $8,000 fine on Krasnoyarsk Thermal Power Plant No. 1 (TPP-1) for air pollution. March checkup carried out by experts of Russian technical regulatory agency Rostekhnadzor at TPP, a branch of OJSC Yenisei Territorial Generating Company, revealed outrage of environmental laws by TPP. The total are occupied by the thermal power plant is 167 hectares.
As the press service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Prosecutor's Office reported, the enterprise exceeded the admissible norms for emission of polluting substances, along with
Krasnoyarsk TPP-1 works without a license for collecting, using, treatment, transportation and placement of harmful substances, the prosecutors informed. Experts estimate that it affects the quality of underground water and soil, in particular, at the territory of the auto workshop of the enterprise.
Four administrative cases were opened against the thermal power plant for breaking ecological laws and treatment of gas emission, air pollution without a special license, and non-payment for environmental pollution. As a result, the legal entity was fined to $8,000. In addition, 8 officials including the chief engineer, chiefs of two workshops and 5 heads of subdivisions of the enterprise were instituted to administrative proceedings.
