The body of a soldier, who died in the army in the Chita Region, was delivered to Zelenogorsk, the Krasnoyarsk Territory. As Yuri Shvytkin, the Krasnoyarsk Territory Legislative Assembly deputy, reported, soldier Dmitry Matvienko was called up to military service by Zelenogorsk in May 2007.
Matvienko was found hanged in the lodgment in the military unit where he served on March 27. A criminal case was opened on Incitement to Suicide (Article 110 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code). Investigation of the tragedy is being carried out by the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Chita Region. "I have sent a deputy request to the Chita Region Military Prosecutor's Office to take the case under special control and asked to inform me about the results," Shytkin said.
The soldier's body was delivered in a coffin to Zelenogorsk on April 4. The burial will take place today.
