The assertion of Vladimir Putin as candidate to Prime Minister post will take place in the State Duma of the Russian Federation on May 8. The State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov announced it on April 7. "We are waiting for May 7 when the inauguration of Medvedev will take place, and for May 8, when we will approve of Vladimir Putin as candidate for PM post," Gryzlov stated.
Some media reported earlier about the possibility of Putin's appointment as PM on May 8. The necessity of the appointment of a new Prime Minister arouse in the presidential administration, as there is non-job climate in the Government now. Under the Constitution, the Government quits when presidential inauguration takes place. A new PM candidate shall be introduced to the State Duma within two weeks. The new candidate must be approved or denied within a week.
