13 cases of tick bites were registered in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for the first week of April, the Regional Department of Rospotrebnadzor, a federal regulatory agency for people's rights' protection and healthcare, reported. Of those three bitten are children. Nine of the bitten are Krasnoyarsk citizens.
Acaricidal treatment is being carried out by Krasnoyarsk administration in the places of mass recreation, 125 hectares in area, to decrease tick activity and number. The area treated against ticks includes: the Fruit and Vegetable Station, Nikolaevka Sopka, Torgashino, Royev Ruchey (Krasnoyarsk zoo), and Tatyshev Island. Due to bad weather the works will start in the middle of May, the press service explained.
