In the governor's opinion, Krasnoyarsk agglomeration is as important as the Lower Angara Region project. "It is one of the biggest federal projects," Khloponin stressed. "Without it we will not be able to get the youth interested to stay here and attract professionals, ensure fully-fledged social and economic development of our region and Siberia."
The agreement signed by the official consists in the cooperation of the heads of the municipal formations in the creation and the development of unified transport, social and engineering facilities, adjustment of housing and industrial construction plans. The projects of the development of the municipalities will be adjusted in accordance with the investment project of the development of Krasnoyarsk agglomeration. This agreement does not imply any changes in the borderlines of the districts.
Mr. Khloponin added, "This is not an attempt to change the borderlines of municipal formations or acquisition of suburban areas by Krasnoyarsk. The project opens new ways of development for districts. The creation of an agglomeration is an open project, which includes compulsory public hearings, discussions, and social polls."
