Krasnoyarsk Territory Governor Alexander Khloponin is expected to go to the southern districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on a working visit on May 16. The programme of his visit includes Yermakovo and Shushensky District. The main theme is preparedness of the region for the upcoming forest fire season.
As the press service of the regional administration reported, the regional authorities had prepared the necessary quantity of helicopters and heavy engineering and ensured a stock of petroleum before the beginning of this fire season. Waterborne and parachute squads of fire stations, 2500 people in number, are in one-hour state of alertness. The use of reserves for reduction of fire quantity will be discussed at the next session of the Security Council of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Then the governor will visit the village of Yermakovskoe, where he will meet with heads of the project of complex development of the Yergaki Natural Park. This project comprises construction of a federal training center for Russian Olympic national team, a training center for emergency workers, creation of a modern energetic, transport, engineering and road facilities and the development of tourism in the natural park.
The governor is expected to hold a meeting on the sowing campaign in Shushenskoe in the end of his visit. In spring 2008 the regional agrarians intend to sow 1 million and 164 hectares of land, which will be 50,000 hectares more than in 2007.
