Recipe for "noodle-kugel-2"


NAME

     NOODLE-KUGEL-2 - Noodle kugel using uncooked noodles
     This recipe is interesting because you don't cook  the  noo-
     dles first.

INGREDIENTS (Serves 6)

     100 g     butter
     220 g     noodles, uncooked
     3         eggs, beaten
     100 g     cottage cheese
     500 ml    milk
     65 g      sugar
     7.5 ml    vanilla extract
     350 g     crushed pineapple with juice
               cornflake crumbs, to top

PROCEDURE

          (1)  Melt butter in a 22x33 pan.
          (2)  Add noodles.
          (3)  Combine  remaining  ingredients,  except   crumbs,
               spread evenly over noodles.
          (4)  Top with crumbs.
          (5)  Bake at 175 deg. C for about an hour.

NOTES

     This recipe is very simple, but it does taste a little  pas-
     tier  than  recipes  that  require  the noodles to be cooked
     first.  It also comes out  very  flat x most  of  the  kugel
     recipes  I've  made in the past use twice as many noodles in
     the same size pan.  I found that some of the things  can  be
     increased, i.e., add more noodles, more pineapple, more cot-
     tage cheese.

RATING

     Difficulty: easy.  Time: 5 minutes preparation, 1 hour cook-
     ing.  Precision: no need to measure.
