Recipe for "shortbread-2"


NAME

     SHORTBREAD-2 - Soft shortbread
     My mother makes this; she got the recipe from a friend.

INGREDIENTS (serves 4-6)

     250 g     soft butter
     100 g     flour
     60 g      corn starch
     60 g      icing sugar
     5 ml      vanilla

PROCEDURE

          (1)  Preheat oven to 160 deg. C.
          (2)  Beat butter and vanilla until foamy.
          (3)  Add dry ingredients and blend. Do not overstir.
          (4)  Spoon onto an ungreased pan.
          (5)  Bake at 160 deg. C  until  done  (10 - 20  minutes
               depending on thickness)

RATING

     Difficulty: easy.  Time: 5 minutes preparation,  20  minutes
     cooking and cooling.  Precision: approximate measurement OK.
