WIGILIA-8 - Noodles with Poppy Seed and Raisins This recipe could be used as part of a 12 course meal known in Polish as Wigilia, or on its own. Wigilia is eaten after sundown on Christmas Eve.
1.5 l boiling water 5 ml salt 300 g egg noodles 30 g butter, melted 400 g poppy seed cake and pastry filling 5 ml vanilla extract 5 ml lemon juice 7.5 ml grated lemon peel 50 g raisins
(1) Combine boiling water and salt in a large sau- cepan. Add noodles and cook until tender, then drain and cool. (2) Toss noodles with butter in the saucepan. (3) Combine poppy-seed filling with vanilla extract, lemon juice and lemon peel, and raisins. Add to noodles and mix well. Cook just until heated through.
Difficulty: easy. Time: 30 minutes. Precision: Approximate measurement OK.
