CHOCOLATE BERRY COBBLER

A winning combination of flavors!



INGREDIENTS:
Serves 6
•3 cups fresh or frozen berries
•1 cup sugar
•1/3 cup butter or margerine
•1 cup all purpose flour
•1 Tbls. baking powder
•1 cup milk
•1/4 cup chocolate syrup
•Vanilla ice cream [optional]

PREPARATION:
•Thaw berries if frozen, but do not drain. combine berries, 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons water; let stand for five minutes. In a 9x9x2-inch baking pan melt the butter or margerine in a 350 degree oven. Stir together the flour, 1/4 cup sugar and baking powder; stir in milk.

•Remove pan from oven. Pour batter atop butter. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Spoon undrained berries on top. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until an inserted tootshpick comes out clean. Cool slightly. If desired, top each seving with a dollop of Vanilla ice cream.
