US captures suspects in separate Iraqi raids
The U.S. military captured two al-Qaida in Iraq bombing suspects and a Shiite militia leader in separate raids Tuesday north and south of Baghdad, the military said.
One of the men, arrested along with four aides, is believed to oversee security for al-Qaida's Iraq branch in Mosul _ one of the terror network's last urban strongholds where U.S. and Iraqi forces have waged fierce battles against militants in recent months.
The man is also suspected of masterminding bombings targeting Iraqi police in the area, according to a U.S. military statement.

Deportation Hearing For NJ Muslim Leader Resumes
A New Jersey Muslim leader facing deportation asked that his children be removed from the courtroom Monday before he broke into tears while describing graphic torture he said he was subjected to in Israeli detention.
The issue of torture is at the heart of the deportation proceedings against Mohammad Qatanani, a Palestinian who has been the mosque leader of the Islamic Center of Passaic County in Paterson since 1996.
The United States government has rejected his bid for permanent U.S. residency, saying Qatanani failed to disclose a 1993 arrest and conviction in Israel for being a member of Hamas on his green card application.
