Acoustic SolutionsAmplifierI Purchased this aplifier and was very suprised at how good the sound quility is. I use this amp with my Acoustic Soulutions AV120s I hooked these speakers up to a sony amp and you can hardly tell the difference between the amps Amazing that the amp only cost £59.99 From argos! Wheras the sony cost me £299 this realy does show how good this amp is. Bass and Treble is perfect. it has a handy loundness boost feature that improves the sound alot when played at low volume. Controls are Simple to use. How are the bigger companys making money when acoustic solutions can make and amp that sounds as good as a sony amp! Highly recomended go get one its awsom! 5 out of 5Waddo03/05/2006 08:44:16

TeacCRH130hi got this from resale a mechanical/electrical fault can occur but the player makes a lot of sound when changing internally and this can lead you to think that the mechanism could be easily broken but it just sounds unusualy loud tom 5 out of 5tomged02/04/2006 07:59:50

SONYTAFE570Excellent budget amp. Good bass and midrange. Treble not quite so crisp as some (e.g., Cambridge A5) at a similar price point, although this latter lacks the bass. Not biwirable. Heavily built, and I get the impression it"ll be with me for years. Run with Eltax Liberty 5"s and sounds pretty good to me. Looks a little retro, but stuff that. 5 out of 5Matthew21/05/2005 06:37:46

JAMOX530I bought these speakers to help boost the bass on my hi fi as my current speakers don't do it any justice. They really work well to give a well balanced blend, while the bass sounds much cleaner. well worth the money.5 out of 5hippie13/12/2003 12:53:26

DENOND-M31 with SpeakersBought this system 2 weeks ago, have been pretty amazed with the sheer quality, not only of the sound but the build quality too, especially for this money...this system beats the pants of other systems costing twice as much, The Denon and Mission partnership works really well....Highly recommended + Extreme value for money !!5 out of 5SgntPepper12/04/2003 19:22:40

YAMAHAAX396I've owned my AX396 for 18 months, and have been very impressed by its quietness, clarity and neutrality.

I play a wide variety of classical music, through good, neutral Rogers speakers, in my study 12X17 ft. There are hundreds of books, carpet & curtains, yet there is plenty of power in reserve to project Wagner at realistic volumes, or to fill the house when I'm feeling anti-social. My son, an acoustic engineer, finds it ok with reggae and heavily bassed-up crap. Oh, and modern jazz sounds very clean and accurate, too.

A damned good product.

SONYHTK170Very nice package, sound excellent, easy to setup and works well.

1 thing i didnt realise is that its not a 5.1 decoder, you need to have 5.1 input from dvd etc.. my error not Sony's, but great piece of kit all the same!

VIDEOLOGICVL60484This machine was a superb buy for me as I wanted to convert my old DVD prologic set up into a dolby 5.1 system with the minimum of cost and fuss.

I was initially worried that the 65W power level would be too small but its more than enough in the average room. I consider sound quality is very good for a budget 'non professional' system. (action films with a lot of SFX like 'Star Wars' and 'Saving Private Ryan' play well through it). The only slight draw back is the manual power switch on the sub woofer and control box (you can't use the remote to switch on) but this is a very minor gripe.

DENOND-F101 with SpeakersExceptional product for the money. The additional speakers really do accentuate the quality of an already hot product. It still requires an upgrade in the interconnects, but that only costs £20.5 out of 5Dan04/11/2002 08:10:40

BUSHBA1002good for the price, sturdy contruction and deep, bassy sound. It could be a little more clear though. 4 out of 5AC11/09/2004 12:48:05

STUDIO POWEREC1000Just brought these, seem pretty good on first impression, bearing in mind they were only £45 for the pair, can't find the website that is listed on the back of the speakers.4 out of 5CHRIS LORD05/01/2003 19:26:45

UnbrandedIon iCDR04I bought one of these on eBay. It worked beautifully for one day then a puff of smoke at the back heralded the end of it. Couldn`t find anyone to mend it. The seller wasn`t interested. But, I may buy another one - from a reputable source this time - because it was so good at what it did. Good luck!

SONYHARLH500The Sony HAR-LH500 promises much: 80GB Hard Disc recording of up to 999 albums with up to 400 tracks per album. The machine specifications boast that it can record a maximum of 40,000 tracks. Impressive! This machine sounds ideal for someone who either has lots of music or intends to build a massive collection. If you are thinking of storing 40,000 MP3's then forget it. Transferring just 10 MP3's takes at least 8 hours and the M-crew software supplied by Sony will delete all transferred MP3's from your computer hard drive!

Recording from CD is a far simpler process with 3X ripping speed for ATRAC3 (Sony's equivalent of an MP3) or 12x for Linear PCM. Just don't try to move tracks from one album to another or change the running order. The machine seems to read the entire 80GB disc not once but twice! Each time you move a track takes about 5 minutes.

To make matters worse, the machine will only move a track from one album to the last place on another album. That takes 5 minutes. If you are not happy with this track being the last track on the album, moving it to another location within the same album takes at least another 5 minutes. If you change your mind, whoops there goes another 5 minutes. So this machine effectively makes it as tiresome as possible to transfer tracks either from computer or within its own hard disc. Once anything is recorded on the HAR-LH500 there is no way of making digital transfers to any other device. The manual also asserts: "Recording to the hard disc should be considered as a temporary means of storing audio files". So you will have to backup every MP3 BEFORE transferring it to the Sony HAR-LH500.

The HAR-LH500 will not play or record MP3's stored on CD and the 'search by artist name' facility seems limited to the first 260 records only. Did Sony not anticipate that with 40,000 tracks there may be more than 260 artists? The Sony HAR-LH500 does offer very good sound quality and ATRAC3 seems a very stable way of compressing sound files but the Sony HAR-LH500 will never replace either my Archos Jukebox Recorder or my Computer equipped with Musicmatch software. This is a shame as the Sony could have been so much better. If you have a lot of money, time and incredible patience this is a great machine.

TeacCRH130Do not buy this product. It sounds sweet and with the spkr package beats all for the price incl. Dennon. But! The CD change mechanism fails, jams and eats CDs. Cogs strip and can't be repaired. Be Warned.1 out of 5bigstu21/07/2003 21:58:16
