Odom, Lakers seek to rebound in Game 4

Lamar Odom didn't need to see the stat sheet to know he had a bad game, but he looked at it anyway. He stared at it in front of his locker after the Lakers' 103-84 loss to the Spurs on Sunday in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals.

Scott Dixon beats Meira in Indianapolis 500

Scott Dixon stayed ahead of the trouble, got a boost from his crew and drove to his first Indianapolis 500 victory Sunday.

Dixon sped out of the pits ahead of Vitor Meira on the final round of stops, then held off the Brazilian and hard-luck Marco Andretti to win the first 500 since the two warring open-wheel series came together under the IndyCar banner.

Jankovic advances at French Open

Jelena Jankovic got a little love from the net to help her beat Monica Niculescu 7-6 (3), 6-2 Monday and advance to the second round of the French Open.

Leading 4-2 in the first-set tiebreaker, last year's French Open semifinalist had a drop volley hit the top of the net and roll along the tape before falling into the opposite court.

The third-seeded Jankovic put her hand up as if to say, 'Sorry.' The Serb then bent down and kissed the white tape.

In the second set, Jankovic lost her serve after breaking her Romanian opponent in the opening game, but then dominated rest of the match.

All the Right Moves

INDIANAPOLIS, May 25 -- Over the final laps of Sunday's crash-filled Indianapolis 500, Scott Dixon showed exactly why he's known as the 'The Iceman.'

Dixon remained cool under the most extreme pressure, deftly navigating lapped traffic and holding off a hard-charging Vitor Meira for his breakthrough victory at the Brickyard in the race's 92nd running, the first since open-wheel racing's reunification in February.

Meira, driving for under-funded Panther Racing, finished a surprising second, 1.7 seconds behind Dixon, and a fraction of a second in front of third-place finisher Marco Andretti in a disjointed race slowed by eight cautions for a total of 69 laps.
