Alleged San Mateo gangbanger convicted for slugging high school Latin teacher
A 19-year-old San Mateo man was convicted of multiple felony charges Tuesday for cold-cocking a high school Latin teacher who said he was trying to stop the man from bullying a student.
"The conduct against this teacher was extremely violent," Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. "A teacher in these circumstances represents authority, and the attack on him was no different from an attack on a police officer.
