"Obama said that patriotism "must, if it is to mean anything, involve the willingness to sacrifice" and sought to distance himself from Clark's remarks without mentioning them."

After months of doing the exact opposite of this why would anyone believe you know. Why does there have to be public pressure for a person to show patriotism, why couldn't it come out naturally? Answer; because it isn't there.

Smart move to never question becuase the it would ultimately be directed and you and the never been proud wife.

Other than that, this is just more politics as usual. DNC directs a stool pigeon to say something stupid so Obama can claim he's not part of it.

What a self grandiose statment..It implies no one should question his. His Pre-emptive statements fool no one.He knows the questions are out there. This "Smoke" screen ,designed to give him cover will not work...a real slippery dude!

Actually people in positions of power ,influence, and authority, should be evaluated on just this most important qualification.

While your politics, are different, your experience shallow, and your understanding of world policy lacking, these will be debated on the merits. However if your not patriotic,by example, and service, then you cannot be qualified for anything.

Patriotism ,truthfulness count.
That should be the highest qualification for any public office!

As far as Obama, its still not confirmed to many ,that he is a practicing Patriot.A speech of expediency won't do it.
Most can see thru this.

In more simplistic terms it begs the question..."WHO WOULD YOU WANT IN YOUR FOXHOLE"

I don't question McCain's patriotism, but I do question his honesty and his honor. He cheated on his first wife, and, if we believe "The Real McCain" by Cliff Schecter, he is verbally abusive to his current wife. I trust Obama; I can't trust McCain.

Don't worry Barack. The wealth of this country and their insecure/biased, paid-off journalism will continue. Ignore it...rich people have never been very good at leading anything. George W. Bush and President Cheney will go down as the worst Administration in history. Now if we can just allow the facts indict them in the International Courts. Rumsfeld and Tenet too...again if the facts so dictate. America could be great again...just got to do a lot of house cleaning on many fronts (Housing, Immigration, Urban Sprawl, Education...etc first.

Are you married? Have you ever said something that you might have regretted? Be real we're all human. Trust someone that has personal and political ties to all the unsavory politicians that Chicago can offer starting with the nortorius Daily Machine. Bluhme, Reszko, just to mention a few. Obama someone you can "TRUST"????

I think it's understandable that Clark called McCain's lackluster military experience into question. I think it wise that Obama set the bar on what he considers acceptable either direction. McCain can either continue to attack Obama on his patriotism and look the ass Clark implied he is or take Obama on with real issues instead of the disingenuous character smears of unpatriotism everyone is sick of.

He *is* the consummate politician's politician. You have to give him that. Fresh, hope and change are descriptors that seem to have escaped him.

For you perhaps but not for me. I wasn't expecting a messiah. Ever see the movie "Can Mr Smith Get to Washington Anymore?"-- not the Jimmy Stewart one, the real politician one?

Is being friends with the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers who bombed the Pentagon and had fundraiser party at Bill Ayers house regarded by Obama as a sign of his patriotism?

If a domestic terrorist copies the terrorist act of Bill Ayers and bomb the Pentagon to protest the Iraq war, does Obama think that is an act of patriotism?

Take a look at the following video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch ...
Obama has never issued open statement denouncing the the display of a Cuban flag in his campaign office for the US presidency.
Is allowing his supporters to replace the American flag with a Cuban flag a sign of Obama's patriotism?

Jeremiah Wright shouted "God Damn America" after about 3000 innocent civilians were murdered by terrorists, yet Obama still clung on him like a maggot until he becomes a fly. Was that proof of Obama's patriotism?

Obama doesn't even have compassion for the American innocent civilians murdered by terrorists, it is hypocritical and shameful for such a traitor to claim that he is patriotic at all.

Define patriotism.
