Giants take Va. LB Clint Sintim in second round

The New York Giants won a Super Bowl in 2008 with a big pass rush and they added a little more push, taking pass-rushing linebacker Clint Sintim of Virginia in the second round.

The 45th pick overall was one the Giants acquired last season from New Orleans in a trade that send Pro Bowl tight end Jeremy Shockey to the Saints.

Sintim may have to adjust in the NFL. He played an outside linebacker position in the Cavaliers' 3-4 defense. The Giants play a 4-3 formation.

He is an impressive pass rusher. He had 27 career sacks, the second-highest total in school history, including 11 sacks this season. He finished his career with 245 tackles, including 39 behind the line of scrimmage.

Anatomy of a prospect: Virginia OLB Clint Sintim

This draft board is littered with undersized pass-rushers, many of whom project as outside linebackers at the next level in a 3-4 scheme: Everette Brown, Larry English, Cody Brown, Lawrence Sidbury... That could slow their development as pros and minimize their rookie contributions.
