Jacque Jones adds speed, depth to Florida Marlins' outfield
The Marlins and free-agent outfielder Jacques Jones have agreed to terms on a contract for the rest of the season.
Jones, who last week was placed on waivers by the Tigers, will spend a few days in Jupiter with the extended spring training club before joining the Marlins. No official word from the Marlins on when he'll join the club, but Jones could be in uniform before this weekend's home series against the Giants.
With no timetable for left fielder Josh Willingham's return from back trouble, Jones will provide another veteran bat off the bench. The left-handed hitting Jones can play all three outfield positions. He could see time in center against right-handers as well.

Hoiberg's Good Luck Charm For NBA Lottery
Even though Fred Hoiberg's playing career was cut short when he had to have open-heart surgery to correct a life-threatening abnormality in 2005, he still considers himself a lucky man.
"I feel that I'm lucky to be alive right now, to be honest with you," the Minnesota Timberwolves assistant GM said. "I was very lucky to find out about my heart condition when I did. So yeah, when you look at it that way, I feel like I'm a very lucky person."
That said, the chronically unlucky Timberwolves aren't taking any chances with Tuesday night's NBA draft lottery.
