The Seattle SuperSonics and the city of Seattle have reached a settlement in their tempestuous KeyArena lease dispute, just hours before a U.S. District Court judge was to rule in the case.

I feel kinda bad for Seattle because they're one of the few cities that can come close to us (Cleveland) in terms of not having a title for so long. Now they get a team taken away from them on top of it.

It's a shame.....that '95-'96 team was good enough to win a title in almost any other season.

Yah- noone notices basketball anymore because everyone is so into half the NFL getting arrested every other week at strip clubs, and Baseball players spiking each other's arses with hypo needles in the clubhouse and writing books about it.

I am not understanding why Oklahoma went with Basketball and their first pro team, do they not realize we are a football state, and football would bring in more than the basketball ever will?

Oklahoma is a football state? When did Oklahoma ever have a football team that didnt have at least ten felons and a few on probation? Lets go back...Barry "I will lie for a dollar" Switzer would not even stick around to kill your program. Bob "Mr Rogers Wannabee" Stoops cant even get over the Big 12 hump to win a NC. And you think the NFL wants to bring their brand of football to the tumbleweed state? Basketball hasnt faired much better. Eddie " Gimme another drink" Sutton really set the state on fire with OSU's basketball program. At least with the NBA coming to OKC...all the rehab centers now will get more clients other than EX- OU and OSU football players!

If Seattle wanted to keep it's team it should have put up the money. Pittsburgh was in a similar situation with the Penguins, and when the Pens threatened for the last time to move if they didn't get an arena that wasn't 40 years old, the city came through because the residents demanded it.

If Seattle wanted to keep their team, they should have put up the money. Put up or shut up.
