There are many books out there on backgammon and most of them are simply bad or obsolete by today's standards. There are many that are good, and some that are excellent and this section will help you to wade through them and help you choose a book that's right for you. I have read and reviewed many of these books and have rated them. But don't go on my opinion alone, I have added the extensive review section from the WWW Backgammon pages and also added any other reviews that I could find from various sources, many from the newsgroup: rec.games.backgammon (rgb). Each book will have it's own page with my review (if available) as well as everyone elses. I welcome and encourage all of you to send me your reviews (use my rating system if you like) on books in hopes of making this a more useful resource. Email your reviews to
webmaster[at]NOSPAMgammoned.com.
Note: Most of these reviews come from very credible sources, skillful players who have been around the game a long time and studied it's concepts. I have also added some editor summaries (obviously promoting the book), some not so expert reviews from novice players as well as some reviews from online bookstores. Gary Wong wrote an excellent article at RGB titled
About BG books and Learning
that may help you see the BiG picture.
