No DNA Link In New Rochelle Officer Rape Case
Investigators turned up no DNA evidence linking a New Rochelle cop to the rape of a 17-year-old girl. Sergeant David Rodriguez, who is married to WNBC-TV co-anchor Darlene Rodriguez, was charged March 19 with first-degree rape. He is accused of jamming gum down the teens throat as he raped her this past February.
Rodriguez was ordered to submit a DNA sample, but tests show it does not match the DNA found on the gum.
Rodriguez's lawyer says his client never had a sexual encounter of any kind with the accuser. He's due in New Rochelle court on Friday.
