Introduction to the Association

The Australian Bridge Directors Association (ABDA) exists to establish minimum standards, and to work for the maintenance and improvement of these standards, for tournament directing at all levels of competitive bridge in Australia.

The ABDA has adopted a Code of Ethics & Procedural Principles for Tournament Directors. This code sets out both the ethical and performance standards that the ABDA believes should be the goal of Directors of all types of duplicate bridge sessions and tournaments from Club through to National level.

Directors and people interested in directing are welcome to join the ABDA. The subscription is $25 for new or lapsed members joining or rejoining the ABDA.

Directors Forum

The ABDA has launched a Directors Forum. This is designed to replace the printed Directors Bulletin previously published by the Association.

ABDA Name Badges

ABDA name badges, each containing the ABDA logo with member's name and their Club name, can be purchased for $10 ea. Please send a request for same together with payment to John McIlrath, 82 Amherst Street, Cammeray, NSW, 2062. They are produced in batches, so there may be a delay in supply depending on demand.
