BRUSH FIRE UPDATES FOR SANTA ANITA FIRE
I will post updates here on the brush fire in Arcadia. Currently here is the story: Homes N of Carter Ave all evac'ed Evac centers: hark park house, congregational church, Fire reported at 100 plus acres with very small if any containment. Agencies onscene are Arcadia FD, Monrovia FD, Pasadena FD, Sierra Madre FD, Burbank FD, Glendale FD, South Pasadena FD, San Marino FD, Alhambra FD, LACounty FD, LACityFD, and the US Forest Service are onscene. Fire Dept got a call of a drug overdose, subject came out and said anyone that came near him that he would shoot em. Then went back in. Turning out to be: 62 Year old male held up in his residence, has Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, is armed with a handgun and possibly a rifle. A structure fire has been reported at 1110 N Garfield in Pasadena. Multiple Units are onscene and under command of Battalion 3. All personal have been ordered out of the structure due to heavy fire throughout the structure. (Apr 13, 2008 | post #1)

Hello, I am sorry to hear for your family members injuries. Below is the best information and most recent I have of this incident. Listening to it live on my Fire Dept Radio, I can tell you all although it was a bad incident, the patients had very good care. BJ Editor, Topix.com ---------------- PASADENA - A 7-year-old boy remained in critical condition Friday after he and his parents, who were visiting the city from out of town, were struck by a car that jumped a curb during a collision, officials said. The collision, at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Fair Oaks Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, also injured the child's father, Jose de la Rosa, 36, who was listed in fair condition Friday, Pasadena Police Department officials said. The father suffered several fractures. The boy's mother, whose name was not released, was treated at a hospital and released. The family was visiting relatives in Pasadena and had arrived just hours before the collision, fire officials said. Police Friday were still investigating the cause of the collision between two vehicles at the intersection. One of the cars jumped the curb, hitting the family. Two occupants in one of the vehicles also were hospitalized with minor injuries, officials said. Officials from the Pasadena Traffic Enforcement group, which patrols on bikes, and paramedics from a private ambulance service happened to be in the area when the collision occurred. They aided local emergency officials at the scene, police said. "Our Major Accident Investigation Team comes out on fatal, near-fatal, and very serious accidents," said Pasadena Police spokeswoman Janet Pope Givens, adding that the team will determine what caused the collision and whether either driver was at fault. After investigating, the team will present its result to local county prosecutors, who will determine whether any charges are warranted against the drivers. Streets in the area are particularly busy on Thursday evenings with shoppers and restaurant patrons. (Apr 6, 2008 | post #19)
