Elena learned chess from the World’s best chess players, including  Russian World Champions: Grandmasters V.Smyslov, M. Botwinnik, G.Kasparov, A.Karpov, B. Spasski, D. Bronstein.

 

As a teenager Elena studied chess in the chess school in Moscow with many young players who later became world’s top players, such G. Kasparov and A.Karpov. She used her experience to advance to the final match for the Women’s World Championship Title.


Elena has worked with private students for many years. Achievements of Elena’s students are quite significant and consistent year after year.  Over last few years several students won the Tournament of Champions, and dozens qualify into TOC every year.  Sam Meisner, a 3rd grader from the King’s School in Shoreline won the K-3 Tournament of Champions 2007.

Author of many articles about chess published in “Chess Life”, “Inside Chess”, “New in Chess” (Holland) Chess Informant (Yugoslavia) and others magazines.

 Georgi led Villa Academy and Seattle Country Day teams to Washington State Championship titles in 1995-1996. Georgi organizes and teaches Summer Chess camps in Seattle since 1995.  

One of Georgi’s students, Michael Omori, won the recent Tournament of Champions 2007 in 4-6 grades. Michael Lee who worked with Georgi for more than a year, recently reached the level of Chess Master.
