Although The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe grossed huge numbers around the world, it was met with mixed reviews; I myself found it too sickly sweet and aimed too young for my taste, (maybe I expected too much after the Lord of the Rings trilogy had set the fantasy benchmark so high).
