2005 CalChess Labor Day



Photos of chess players from the 2005 CalChess Labor Day Championship on September 3-5 in San Francisco. All photos taken by Michael Aigner. Some images appear to be dark because I tried to avoid using flash to not disturb the players.

2005 National Grade Level in Houston



Roughly 20 CalChess juniors travelled to Houston for the 2005 National Grade Level Championship. These pictures document this trip. Photographer Michael Aigner served as coach of Saratoga High School at this tournament.

2006 People's Tournament



The 33rd annual People's Chess Tournament was held over two weekends at the East Bay Chess Club in Berkeley. These photographs by Michael Aigner are from the second weekend (1800+ rating sections only).

2006 Reno Far West Open

2006 High School Nationals in Milwaukee



<div align="left">A team of intrepid teenagers from Saratoga travelled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 21-23 for the National K-12 Championship. They came back having left their mark on the tournament, with one player nearly winning the whole enchilada.  Photos by Stayton Chock and Jojo Zhao.</div>

2007 People's Tournament

2007 High School Nationals in Kansas City



Photos by Michael Aigner and Stayton Chock from the National High School Championship in Kansas City.  13 Northern California teenagers played.  Michael Zhong tied for first while Sam Shankland, Daniel Schwarz and David Chock tied for 8th.
