London, 1851

One of Adolf Anderssen's masterpieces, known as the Immortal Game. Lionel Kieseritzky  neglects his development  and Anderssen offers both Rooks to show that two active pieces are worth a dozen sleeping at home. This game established a glittering reputation for Adolf Anderssen and an example of the KI's-BS gambit which was played at Simpson’s-in-the-Strand (one of London’s finest Chess salons.)
