Garry Kasparov vs Deep Blue - The Rematch / May 3-11, 1997

An improved IBM's Deep Blue Supercomputer with a massively parallel RS/6000 SP based computer system designed to play Chess at the grandmaster level and capable to evaluate 200 million positions per second, played a fascinating match with Garry Kasparov, the reigning World Chess Champion. This event was captured live on IBM's web site only where millions of Chess fans followed the event in real-time. With a dramatic victory in game 6, Deep Blue won its six-game rematch against Kasparov.
