    The Basics of Chess






    This is a chess tutorial for the absolute beginner. It is meant to teach you the basic rules of chess.
    To use the tutorial use the menu at left to study all of the sections.
    It is suggested that you proceed in the order of the menu
    as each new section assumes that you know and understand what was in the previous one.

    After going through all of the sections you may want to read FIDE's official laws of chess.

    Also keep watching this site for more basics for the beginner.
