Featured Game

Here's entry #16 in my Featured Game series. You will find on this page:

• A double board puzzle, using a position taken from the game. See if you can find a way for SuperGrover and killabug to force mate.

Featured Game #16:

Damn... This Traffic Jam...

The mating possibility in the diagrammed position was missed by our underdog combatants, and maybe we should all be grateful. Instead of a rather routine win (even if the guy getting mated is World class), we're treated to one hell of a donnybrook. Somehow, JKiller's king finds shelter amidst a sea of enemy pieces as killabug performs an act of self-strangulation. However, then the clock situation changes, killabug manages to poke a hole in the gridlock (although missing a second mate), and the hunt for JKiller's king starts anew. I won't spoil the finish for those who want to be surprised, so let's just get to the game.
