Foodies keen to try a new take on fresh and tasty should check out Noodle Canteen at The Hub on Ti Rakau Drive.

Opened six months ago, this pristine, quick meal outlet offers fabulous flavours cooked on the spot from a mouth-watering fresh food bar.

Hubby and I popped in for a takeout recently and were flabbergasted by the range of yummy noodle dishes which included the likes of seafood combination noodles, Thai curry chicken, Mongolian beef, satay chicken, curry laksa, tom yum soup, sambal fried rice, nasi goreng and a great deal more. In fact, at least 24 more dishes which could be conjured up on sizzling, flaming hot woks in just a matter of minutes.

On that occasion I took home the Terikayi (udon noodles with chicken, onion, bean sprouts, carrot, spring onion and bok choy cooked in Japanese teriyaki sauce). Hubby opted for the Hot Box (egg noodles with roast pork, chicken, beef and fresh vegetables in a Thai chilli sauce). Both were piping hot, delicious and very filling, so filling neither of us could eat the whole box. We could have managed with one between us.

I was totally impressed with this new facility. It was spotlessly clean, provided an area to sit and eat and the food was appealingly displayed.

Dishes were mostly priced around the $9.20 mark and, in my opinion, represented excellent value. Once again a welcome alternative to deep fries.
