Segundo Alejandro Castillo Nazareno (born May 15, 1982 in San Lorenzo, Esmeraldas, Ecuador) is an Ecuadorian footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Red Star Belgrade.

He broke into the Ecuadorian national team in 2005 and made his debut against Venezuela and was included in their squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup due to his remarkable willingness to attack even as a defensive midfielder.

On May 24, 2006 in a friendly game against Colombia, he scored a goal for his country in the second half. They later tied 1-1 in New York.^[1] His impressive display against the Colombian team later earned him a starting lineup position for Ecuador in the World Cup, and he remains one of Ecuador's best players today.

Castillo scored only his second international goal in a 26 March 2008 3-1 friendly win against Haiti.

On the 24th of July 2008, a proposed move to the English Premier League with Blackburn Rovers collapsed because of an unsuccessful trial in Bavaria, Germany with new manager Paul Ince.

Wigan Athletic are reportedly ready snap up the Ecuadorian midfielder.

On August 31, 2006 he signed a two year deal with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, former European Cup champions, from El Nacional in Quito.^[2] He scored an impressive 8 goals during his first season at his new club and he was the key to reach the double in Serbia, being rated as a world class player. It has been revealed that he will be leaving his club. Castillo linked up with Blackburn Rovers of the English Premier League on trial but it has been decided that he will not be signed by the club.
